Disseminate is a piece about the loneliness I experienced during the Covid-19 pandemic. The piece is an expression of a call to the world without receiving anything in return. We now work from home and are schooled via the internet. We look at blank screens and don't really speak to each other. In the visuals lines are drawn from the buildings when the music sounds but nothing is sent back.
The piece was recorded in the Nicolaïkerk in Utrecht. I made the composition, everything you hear is live made with the modular synth and controlled by my own made string instrument. The visuals are generated live with a Max patch I made and mapped on the half-transparent screens. I want to thank the people of the Nicolaïkerk and HKU for this unique opportunity.
