What is your specialty, what makes your work unique? Or place your artist's statement.

I am interested in the role that narratives play in the expression of culture and identity. I take inspiration from my history and heritage to create my own rituals, artifacts and mythos. Often tackle subjects such as cultural identity, afro-diaspora, intersectionality, and personal and collective memory.

What are your ambitions? What do you want to be in five years?

Next to my art practice I also have ambitions in film making. For me it is all about narratives and story telling. I wish to continue developing my own artistic language and expression in this field in combination with my independent art practice. There is a lot more to see and discover in this world, and I wish to see as much of it as I can as I continue to growing as an artist.

What is the most important thing you have learned during your studies?

That everyone has a story that is worth telling. Surrounding yourself with people from different walks of life or of different cultures and beliefs can challenge our own views on things and expend our world view. I have grown and learned so much from simply exploring different contexts, and challenging my own beliefs and ideas. By trying new things and surrounding myself with a divers group of friends.
