What is your specialty, what makes your work unique? Or place your artist's statement.
I’m very fond of conceptual art and experimenting.
I like to use objects and elements that are often not seen as art but more design or mundane objects often seen but rarely given a second thought of.
The way I see things can be rather odd for some to most people in general, I like to question a lot of things even if it’s a stupid question— I will still ask it. I use sarcasm, absurdity, irony, controversial/confronting things and subject in my artwork, I like to ask questions through my artwork regardless if there is an answer or simply rhetorical, in every artwork I created it always start with 5 w and H: who, what, when, where, why and how, it’s through art I can ask and materialize my idea and thoughts. My work is made to be blend with daily life(non-art world), it will resemble ordinary objects people can find everywhere but re-conceptualize it into an artwork. I like to encourage the viewer to consider what art can be and to leave the idea art can really infiltrate our life unnoticed if you don’t pay enough attention to the details.
What are your ambitions? What do you want to be in five years?
I want to learn more, to experience more, to hear more stories and experiences from diverse individuals or communities. I want to research and experiment with art and non-art things. I’ve always wanted to create artworks that is breaking the wall between the art world and the non-art world. It is my biggest challenge and ambition, to create an artwork that can be experienced without any prior knowledge and history of art; artwork that people don’t need to be afraid to touch and have full interaction without fear of the ‘red rope’ or ‘do not touch’.
In the upcoming 5 years, a lot of things can happen and change, I want to expand my realm of art and non-art knowledge, from politics, business, psychology, history, and many more. I want to learn as much as I can about different subjects and make art out of them. I don’t see it as what I want to achieve in 5 years, but more of what I need and want to learn in order to grow as an artist and an individual.
What is the most important thing you have learned during your studies?
The most important thing I’ve learned in my study is NEVER GIVE UP.
No matter obstacles, problems, setbacks, or any other thing, never give up.
If you fail, it’s a good thing—an opportunity to learn what you missed, if you succeed, break down and analyze what makes it successful so you learn and understand better of your own work and thinking. Don’t stop asking questions, don’t stop wondering, don’t be afraid to make mistakes or to fail. It just a learning curve and art are beyond what the art world defines it.
Also, becoming an artist is very expensive.... be prepared to be broke within a year if you don't get a job.
