What is your specialty, what makes your work unique? Or place your artist's statement.

As a child I grew up in an environment surrounded by industry and ports. Here is where my fascination for creating geometric shapes and constructions originated, which is a visual recurring theme in my work. With my graphic and product design background I create objects with which I want to encourage people to look at solutions to social and contemporary problems in a different way. I do this by making conceptual designs that translate a story in a visual way with a certain interaction or physical form. The story can originate within me, but I also like to challenge myself to translate a story from someone or something that is further away from me. With the interaction in my designs, I think it's important that I give my audience the opportunity to play with my designs.

What are your ambitions? What do you want to be in five years?

My goal for the future is that I can make a living from my work and that I have made a name for myself in the creative industrie with my own business. By exhibiting at many exhibitions I want to attract a larger audience and make a step to break through internationally. In addition, I also want to enter into collaborations with people from different fields because there is always a lot to discover and can provide beautiful projects.

What is the most important thing you have learned during your studies?

What will stay with me most about the academy is that making connections is one of the most important parts of the creative sector. In the past four years I have learned most of my technical skills from my classmates and the workshop supervisors. I learned from my teachers to think in a different way and to approach my work from a different perspective.
