What is your specialty, what makes your work unique? Or place your artist's statement.
The exploration of hidden everyday elements in public space are the main interest in my work. Aiming to fasten the spectator's attention on such elements, I approach them on an intersection between politics and humour, whilst avoiding the obvious. Starting from a graphic design practice, I use various media such as sculpture, video, photography and typography to expose my concepts and ideas. Aesthetics and communication are always high on the agenda and the stories behind them never far from what the eye sees. Playing with the spectator's interpretation, I examine the extent to which it is possible to steer it.
What are your ambitions? What do you want to be in five years?
Within five years, I hope to be able to fully exploit my own business, working both on commission and on my own initiative. My practice will mainly be in the area of graphic design, where I try to broaden my scope by using other media.
What is the most important thing you have learned during your studies?
During my years at the HKU, I have learned to broaden the field I work in and the choices I make. It has also helped me to specify and find a direction within my making.
