Sound can only be perceived after being manifested in a physical form. Even if the sound source is created or modified by electronic or digital processes, it has to present itself as acoustical energy. I think therefore that we need to see the whole acoustical pathway as part of our instruments before we understand the experience we try to achieve.
What are your ambitions? What do you want to be in five years?
I would like to explore new ways of building 'immersive' sound systems from a non-technical perspective.
What is the most important thing you have learned during your studies?

- Working as a classical recording engineer since '18 and recently for the Utrecht-based TRPTK label
- Involved as a sound designer for exhibitions at Dutch Design Week ('19 / '20) and Museum Voorlinden
- Recorded a (soon to be released) 11 hours city ambience library in the Dolby Atmos / Auro3D format
- Co-produced and mixed multiple albums for Cedric Vermue
- Worked as a sound designer for short film and theatre
- Co-organised the AES 2021 convention
- Composed a 9-minute work for choir, organ, and electronics for E-Live '19
- Currently developing a new virtual acoustics system in collaboration with Thijs Muijs
- Researching the Omniwave loudspeaker system since '19
