‘‘Merging Contrasts to create a chemistry between cultures, countries and citizens’’
In everything I do, I strive to keep my identity sustainable. I believe that contrasts could better complement rather than conflict each other.’

Personal interest merged with Moluccan cultural values offers a fresh new narrative.
The design philosophy is based on one of these essential values of where the Moluccan
culture and society is build on, connection and harmony. I aim to find
balance when merging contrasts and connect with opposites to enhance my identity.
Translating my personal identity to a different context such as shapes or architecture,
represents my signature as a designer. It will keep an identity sustainable as well as dynamic.

Using traditional Moluccan design ideas and cultural values as the core and applying an
aesthetical layer on top creates a contemporary appearance, which could be expressed in a various ways depending on context, technology or interest.
The quest during my last project was about seeking balance between traditional
Moluccan cultural clothing, architectural ideas and values and expressing it inspired by the term of the abstract art movement, Suprematism, the supremacy of pure artistic feeling.
The Moluccan values could only be experienced when interacting, while the appearance expresses through Suprematism.

My design vision is to respect and being inspired by my or a past or roots and to merge this knowledge with the current possibilities to design for the future.

Merge & Inspire

What are your ambitions? What do you want to be in five years?

I strive to work on my own spatial and interior design projects on an international level. And to be an inspiration for other as well.

May my vision inspire others.

What is the most important thing you have learned during your studies?

The most important lesson I learned is to approach people or subjects with an open mind. As well as the journey is more important than where you are ending.
