Artist statement; wat is je specialisme, wat maakt jouw werk uniek?

If I could say one thing, what I really love in music, it would be chamber music. Since I am not a soloist type, I feel comfortable on stage, when I play with someone. I have already received many years of chamber music lessons even before I started studying at the HKU. Thanks to my studies here, I had a lot of opportunity to play with other people, in different kind of ensembles. I think this helped me a lot to become a better musician, and I would say that my specialty is that I can easily collaborate with other musicians, which can be any kind of instrumentalist or singer. In order to do this, I think it is very important that as a pianist, I know how other instruments or voices work so it can help in many ways how to play together with them (breathing, timing).

Wat zijn je ambities? Wat wil je over vijf jaar bereikt hebben?

I am about to make a very sharp change in my life. After I graduate here, I am going to move back to Hungary. I would like to study veterinary medicine in Budapest. In order to be able to apply there, first I need to make chemistry and biology maturity exam. But besides that, I still would like to continue playing the piano. It would be great, if I could organize an ensemble in Hungary, so I could play with them. Since veterinary medicine takes at least 5 and a half years, I will be probably still studying in 5 years. It would be great to find a job next to my studies, as a pianist, so I would have the opportunity to stay in shape, and continue playing.

Wat is het belangrijkste dat je hebt geleerd tijdens je studie?

It is hard to emphasize only one thing, that I have learned during my studies, but if I had to choose something, it would be that I became much freer. Not only in my piano playing, but as a person as well, I think. Before I have started studying here, I struggled a lot with stress, which was unfortunately very recognizable in my playing as well. I knew that this will be a long journey, but a completely new country, a great atmosphere and environment, many new friends, but most importantly my main subject teacher, all helped me to reach this stage, where I am at this moment.
