What is your specialty, what makes your work unique? Or place your artist's statement.
My passion lies in 3D environment art, but i have a jack-of-all-trades approach to my work.
I came into HKU with a programming and illustration background, which helped me develop a flexible set of skills that allows me to work on many ends of a project.
What are your ambitions? What do you want to be in five years?
I want to delve deeper into the world of stylised environment art.
In five years, I hope that I've found my place in a game studio among a team of great people, working together on some amazing stuff.
Also considering the pace at which my plant collection is growing, I'm hoping I'll have a greenhouse by then.
What is the most important thing you have learned during your studies?
Probably the most important thing I learned was what my passions are, and which of those passions I actually want to earn my keep with.
I came in with a strong 2D background, convinced concept or character art was my calling. Over time though, I realized that having to draw for work sucked the fun out of drawing for myself. That's really when I realized my affection for 3D art, especially 3D environments, that I could work on for hours without becoming burnt.
Figuring out that delicate balance is really what helped me solidify my idea of what I want my future to look like.
